#25anos25posts: Forbidden | Syrie James & Ryan M. James

(in english below)

Ui!

In english:

This book was kindly given to me by HarperTeen, so I have to thank this incredible publisher right now! I made the request to access the book "Embolden", the second book in this saga - because the story of my life is to ask for and even buy books # 2 and # 3 of collections and only realize it later - and when the request was accept the publisher sent me an email with the first book, in case I hadn't read it. Were they not a sympathy?

Disclaimer: This book was sent to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are completely mine.

Forbidden tells the story of Claire Brennan, a 16-year-old girl who discovers she has a gift: she has visions. Claire then begins to see little things, until her psychic visions begin to take her on paths she did not expect: something tells her that her life is at risk.

Alec MacKenzie is the new boy at school who hides a secret: he is an angel who defected. Alec went to Los Angeles to try to live a normal life, but he did not expect to find a half-angel girl, Claire, who could get him into trouble in trying to live a normal teenage life.

Then, in this book, Claire discovers that her father was an angel who became involved with her human mother, an act prohibited in the world of angels, and that she should not even exist.

In the midst of so many discoveries, about herself, about her family and about the risk she runs, Claire also discovers a new love. But will you be able to keep this relationship forbidden?

The secondary characters are some of the best I've read in novels. They are very well built for their purpose, as, for example, Claire's best friends, Erica and Brian, who are real, loyal people and who represent exactly what a friendship should be. They unconditionally support our protagonist and, therefore, she knows that she can bring them up to date with everything that goes on in her life as they will be there for her. Erica and Brian are one of those friendships that anyone wants to have at any time in their life. In addition, this is a book of teenagers with characters who effectively act like teenagers and not a book of teenagers with characters with extremely mature attitudes for those who are 16 or 17 years old.

It is impossible to read this book and not remember Hush Hush and I have to tell you: Alec puts Patch in a corner. And the relationship between Alec and Claire then ... Ui! How sweet! My favorite part is that Alec doesn't shade Claire, they help each other, always try to work things out and, above all, maintain a balanced relationship.

When I finished the book I was grateful to have access to the next book because it was inevitable not to be curious about the future of Claire and her friends.

Rating: ★★★★☆

With love, Brenda
