#setediasde Livros que gostava que tivessem adaptação: Seca

 

Neste 3º post do #setediasde Livros que gostava que tivessem adaptação (organizado com a @miriamthemermaid) trago-vos o livro “Seca”, escrito por Neal Shusterman e Jarrod Shusterman.

Este livro apresenta-nos uma sociedade severamente afetada pela seca em que de um dia para o outro há um "fechar da torneira" e acaba-se a água no abastecimento público.

Imagina abrir a torneira e não sair água. Desesperante, não é?

Com o desaparecimento dos pais durante esta crise, Alyssa e o irmão, junto com o vizinho Kelton, tentam lidar com esta grave mudança da forma mais humana possível.

Achei este livro o perfeito exemplo do que irá acontecer quando um dos bens mais essenciais, a água (potável), acabar.

Acho que daria uma excelente adaptação cinematográfica porque seria uma forma de tentar sensibilizar pessoas que ainda não estão muito despertas para este assunto (ainda que seja uma questão que vem sendo falada há anos, mas bem sabemos que há sempre aqueles que vão evitando falar sobre isto até que os afete diretamente).

Neste livro as pessoas ignoraram todos os avisos: quando tudo indicava que a água potável iria acabar, quando eram implementadas medidas cada vez mais severas, quando eram feitos protestos, as pessoas faziam o quê? Ficavam em casa a ver da televisão acreditando que não iria acontecer com elas, mas aconteceu.

Um conselho de amiga, se fores ler este livro, mantém uma garrafa de água (ou outra bebida) por perto, porque, se fores como eu, vais ficar com uma sede danada.

In this 3rd post of #setediasde "Books I'd like to become a movie adaptation" I would love to see" I bring you a photo that was actualy inspired on @miriamthemermaid (the other organizer of this "seven days of") I bring you the book “Dry”, written by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman.

This book introduces us to a society severely affected by drought in which the tap is turned off overnight and the public water supply runs out.

Imagine opening the water tap and no water coming out. Desperate, isn't it?

With her parents disappearing during this crisis, Alyssa and her brother, along with neighbor Kelton, try to deal with this serious change in the most human way possible.

I found this book the perfect example of what will happen when one of the most essential goods, (potable) water, runs out.

I think it would make an excellent film adaptation because it would be a way of trying to raise awareness in people who are not yet awake to this subject (although it is an issue that has been talked about for years, but we know that there are always those who avoid talking about it until it directly affects them).

In this book, people ignored all warnings: when everything indicated that drinking water would run out, when increasingly severe measures were implemented, when protests were held, what did people do? They stayed at home watching television, believing it wouldn't happen to them, but it did.

A friend's advice, if you're going to read this book, keep a bottle of water (or other drink) close by, because if you're like me, you're going to get really thirsty.
